Call for Volunteers/Interpreters (Hungarian) – Election Observation Mission to Hungary 2026
On April 12th, 2026, Hungary will hold its parliamentary elections, and Agora Election Observation is seeking young applicants residing in Hungary who are knowledgeable about the country and interested in youth engagement in elections and election observation. These individuals are invited to join the mission as Volunteers/Interpreters to support our deployment.
For this position, we need individuals residing in Hungary who are familiar with the country or a specific region. Volunteers/Interpreters will assist with English and Hungarian translation to help observers communicate on Election Day.
Agora Election Observation’s mission will consist of 24 young international observers and 3 Coordinators from across Europe, all deployed to different regions in Hungary. Volunteers/Interpreters will work during the election weekend itself and, usually, in the city of their residence. The day before Election Day, they will meet their assigned international observers in their designated region or city. Observers are deployed in gender-balanced pairs and will work with a designated Volunteer/Interpreter. All interpreters will receive a certificate of participation recognising their valuable contribution to the mission.

To become a Volunteer/Interpreter for the Agora Election Observation Mission, applicants must:
- Be preferably between 18 and 35 years old
- Have a good command of both English and Hungarian
- Have a solid understanding of the country and especially of the region or town in which they are based
This profile is suited for Hungarian citizens, but international volunteers residing in Hungary who meet the criteria are also welcome to apply.
